Frozen Treats

Recently I was given a tip to feed Pumpkin with oats and flax seed to my dogs.
That this is a good supplement for skin and hair health.

At first I created the mixture and just added a spoon to their bowl of food.
But I wanted to make it easier.

I made them into frozen treats!!

I used my Scottie shaped molds to make the treats, and also some paw shaped molds.

I added the recipe to Instructables, you can check out the steps there:

Scotties at the beach!

It was always a dream of mine to take my dogs to the beach and watch them have fun and run all over the place.

This weekend, we finally did!!

We went just for the day to see if they liked it and , well they loved it!!

We went to a little hotel in Esterillos, El Pelicano.
They are dogie friendly and even have a couple of dogs of their own.

This is a very large beach so the space available to have fun with dogs is huge and they do not
bother anyone.

Well, both of them loved running on the beach as far as they could.

They loved getting their paws wet up to their bellies.

Sometimes they even got deeper in the sea, but the area is known for strong currents, so we kept them close to the shore.

They were a little afraid of the little waves, but then, they realized it passed and kept enjoying the sea.

I was hopping that they chase crabs, but instead Sesame decided to chase birds... silly scottie..

And when we were out of the water.. rolling around the sand was the thing to do

It was the cutest, watching them look for the shade when they were not running.

I really think they can get used to trips to the beach. If you have a dog and have the chance, take them to the beach!!

Frisbee

We took the girls or for a picnic day.

We took the Frisbee and tried to teach them to how to catch it.

They were not successful at this but they did had fun running behind it and trying to be the first one to grab it.

Sesame even started learning to fetch, but she always drops is half way there..

They never understood we wanted them to catch in the air, and not to wait until it drops.

But, it's still funny!
And they loved it!

Oliver and Tesla

I'm not sure if you remember Oliver form a previous post.

Well, he is now living at our house in the south. And he has a girlfriend! Her name is Tesla.

Oliver, besides the size he is now, was able to share some time with Pepper.

Cool Pepper

We took a trip to our house in the south of Costa Rica.
And the weather is quite hot.

Pepper, was very wise in choosing where to lie down and cool off.

As you can see, she did not shared the space with Sesame!

An apple a day

I had two small apples and two Scotties staring at me.

I decided to give one to each one of them, just for the fun of it.

I still regret that I did no took a picture of that momment. They looked like little roasted pigs!!

They play with them until they realized that this treat had something more to it.

After they chewed a couple of pieces off and the got bored with it.

Here are some shots of Sesame eating her apple.

toy destruction!

We got a toy as a gift at the Vet.
but this was not appropriate for the girls.

It took them 20 minutes to rip the whole thing apart.
It looked like this.

Here are the images of how this pretty innocent toy gut completely destroyed~

In the end, it was nothing but string..

But they had fun for all those 2 minutes it lasted!

Dirty Pepper

Yesterday I came home from work and found Pepper like this...

Quite a mystery because that day it did not rain... but she managed to create a mud pool on her own.

The mud was already dry and she had it all over her body...

Scottish pool party

It was a very sunny morning.
I was actually cleaning the pool and then...

Pepper came running to attack the water and jump into the pool

I took only 2 seconds more to have Sesame and Oliver join as well.

They had a lot of fun..

and I still had a dirty pool and 3 wet dogs....

Peppper's puppies

Well, this is the main reason I was away from blogging.

Pepper had her first litter and I was very much obsessed with watching the puppies all the time.

It was a small litter, only to puppies. Both males. They were called Aza and Bache
So they were the Azabache Twins! Basically azabache means black color.
Pepper was a good mother and Sesame a good aunty!

Oliver was not as close to the puppies, but whenever they got to play Red one would always go at him as if he was 10 times larger! Guess that Scottie attitude is quite set!

They are now both with their new families. The one with the blue collar is now called Shine and the one with the red one : Blacky.

This is a summary of the images of the puppies.

Scottie nose

I was in the mood of sharing this beautiful Scottie nose!!!
